About

(I may or may not resemble this portrait)
This site is just what the internet needed—another useless blog from another useless nobody. I’d heard there was a shortage of self-important douchebags posting their thoughts and opinions on all sorts of meaningless, dreadful topics. So I thought I’d join in, do my part to make the internet even more cluttered with crap that contributes nothing of value to society.
But anyway, let’s humor ourselves and pretend you are interested in knowing a bit more about me…
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada. Moved away to greener pastures for several years, then came back. Not sure what I was thinking. Married. Late 30’s. No kids. By choice. (I know; you must think we are horrible people, not propagating our wonderful genes for the benefit of the species. I’m sure you’ll get over it.)
I consider myself an atheist and a supporter of humanism and secularism.
I read a lot of books. Mostly non-fiction politics, current affairs, history, and science. If I’m reading fiction, it’s usually a short-story collection. More often than not, it’s a collection of horror tales.
I enjoy most types of music but I probably hate your favorite band, which sucks and hasn’t had a good album since that one almost listenable album they released several years ago.
What does “roomsix” mean?
First of all it has nothing to do with the crappy movie of the same name. This site was actually around before that flick, so there.
The name was inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. The Sixth Circle was the special place in Hell where the “heretics” (those who formed their own opinions rather than follow the edicts of the papacy) were sent to burn in eternal torment. I changed it from a circle to a room and voila. Nothing satanic or evil about it, just a metaphor for my feelings on organized religion.
